Yeah it's great, isn't it. Just wish they have an auto-update option to the plug-ins too so we don't have to click them manually to upgrade :)

Now me too upgraded my wordpress to 2.6 , but manually.
the pluginn of Wordpress auto upgrade comes into picture after i upgraded.
i installed that pluginn in my wordpress recently, looks great.
BTW one of wordpress's new and best feature is that pluginn area, they divided the Inactive and Active pluginns !

I wrote <a href="http://www.cravingtech.com/blog/how-to-updateupgrade-wordpress-automatically.html" rel="nofollow">a post about that plug-in here</a>, if you are interested.

As always, you don't have to upgrade if you don't want to, but why? :)

While upgrades do add new features, most upgrades also address critical security issues. It's suggested to upgrade ASAP when a new release comes out to prevent your website from being exploited / hacked.

There's even an automatic upgrade plugin if you don't feel comfortable upgrading manually: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/
