WordPress 2.5.1 Update

WordPress

An update from WordPress, claimed to fix security issues and also more than 70 bug fixes.

Highlights include:

  • Performance improvements for the Dashboard, Write Post, and Edit Comments pages.
  • Better performance for those who have many categories
  • Media Uploader fixes
  • An upgrade to TinyMCE 3.0.7
  • Widget Administration fixes
  • Various usability improvements
  • Layout fixes for IE
It seems to fix my dashboard “Loading…” issues though.

As you can see from the screenshots below, I have a lot of these “Loading…” text on my dashboard and it takes forever for the feed to load. After I upgraded my WordPress from 2.5 to 2.5.1, I clicked on the “Edit” , re-saved each feed settings, and this time, the loading texts have gone for good, even after I restarted my browser. Well, all except the “Plug-in” feed.

*UPDATE*: Scratch that! The problem comes back again after some hours of sleep! :(

WordPress 2.5.1 also makes the error message when uploading an image to go away.

So far so good and I’m really glad to see that WordPress is being taken care of every day by the development team.

To those who are still using Google’s Blogger system, I don’t know. I always suggest them to migrate over to WordPress :) I’m glad I made that decision after the first few weeks of blogging. I never regretted that decision ever.
