Windows XP Service Pack 3 is now official!

by Michael Aulia on 29 April, 2008 in News

Windows Microsoft has finally launched Windows XP Service Pack 3 to the public, officially! It’s available on Windows Update as you read this post.

You can also download the standalone installer straight from Microsoft’s server here (32-bit)

Windows XP Service Pack 3 fixes more bugs, security improvements, and rumor was that it also increases about 8% of your system performance. Whether it’s true or not, it worths a grab! You can read more about Windows XP Service Pack 3 overview on Microsoft’s page.

I’m not sure when will I be brave enough to update my office’s computer with this, though. If something happens, there will be too much work involved for a reformat and reinstall. Something that I can’t waste on at the moment.

Is it safe to update?  Please share your updating experience.

Is it automatic? Or do you have to get it somewhere?

I believe you need to go to Microsoft Update site to update it through there.

Or better, download the stand alone EXE file (link on my post) and install it. You can keep the service pack 3 file for future use, in case you have to reformat your computer.
