Razer Megasoma Review

Razer Megasoma is a hybrid of a hard and a soft mouse mat; If you love the softness of a soft mat but want to have the speed of a hard mat, Razer Megasoma delivers (this is debatable and I guess more like a personal preference). Razer Megasoma sits somewhere in between, combining the best [...]

Windows 7 Public Beta Begins..and ends quickly

Windows 7 WallpaperOnly 2.5 million of Windows 7 activation keys are available worldwide. The beta will expire on August 2009 (assuming you have the key activated). If not, you’ll only get 30 days of trial (+ a couple more months perhaps with the ReArm trick to extend the trial).

To get your key and download Windows 7 Public Beta, go here.

The server was getting hammered earlier. I ‘ve been getting “Server too busy” error and now Microsoft has decided to actually take out Windows 7’s download/access from the site. The page now says “Windows 7 Beta coming soon!”.

Im considering testing it out. Would it be better to wait for it to become more stable?

Well I heard that there’s only going to be 1 Beta and that’s it. So this is probably the time that you should be trying it :)

Unless of course if you want to wait until it’s being released. Honestly though, this is the most stable build of Windows 7. Just make sure that you update it to fix the mp3 bug that I mentioned earlier

download seemed to give me access…unfortunately it requires vista as it uses that as an update base.

I love my modified XP not going to mess around with the beta just yet then….well not until I cab find my vista cd key again and get my test machine back up :p

? It doesn’t require Vista to install (I did an installation fresh) but hey, if you still love & happy with XP, then you shouldn’t waste money to change :)

Donace 11 January, 2009 at 10:13 pm

it doesnt? Another tech blog told me it did :p

Oh well will test it out soon then, this is literally though what Vista should have been; beautiful yet functional!

Meh.

What is so special about Windows 7 anyway? -_-

It gonna suck PC resources even hard than Vista? -_-

Still using an un-updated p-version of XP Pro and have no complains with it so far.

Gimme a good reason to upgrade to newer windows.

lol well assuming you have the hardware, then:
- DirectX 10 effects in Games (not possible in XP)
- Better in small things here and there (the way mp3 files are displayed/modifiable, the breadcrumb of explorer, easier to access stuffs)
- It doesn’t get slow down like XP after a year without re-formatting
- Prettier looking Windows? lol
and I guess some other architecture or technical sheets that we won’t notice heh heh

But it’s probably the same reason why people wanted to move from Windows 98 to Windows XP, where 98 can basically do all XP does

I downloaded it and also got the keys. Needs to empty some files on one drive and install it and see how it fares.

Have fun! Might as well install the 64 bit if your spare system has a 64-bit processor

I do :) and lots of people in forums too. Most give a good impression on stability, responsiveness, and performance

Michael Aulia 12 January, 2009 at 9:29 pm

Oh? Weird.. because you have to buy Windows 7 just like you buy Windows Vista :) (it’s a “completely different” OS hehe)
