Windows 7 Beta Build 7000 leaked

by Michael Aulia on 29 December, 2008 in Other Tech News

Windows 7 Beta

As expected, Windows 7 Beta build 7000 that is supposed to be out on January 2009 has already been leaked on the web. The file, 7000.0.081212-1400_client_en-us_Ultimate-GB1CULFRE_EN_DVD.iso, has been published on torrent sites and if you can’t wait until January to get a hold of the public beta, then *ahem* feel free to grab it.

In case you didn’t know, Windows 7 is the next Windows built by Microsoft after Windows Vista.

The look and feel is indeed like Vista. Many people complain that this is what Vista should have been when it was released. However, due to time and resources constraints, Vista had to be release as it was. A quite similar case with Windows 98 last time (vs Windows 95).

I’ve played around with a few internal builds of Windows 7 before and I’d say that this is probably the operating system that I really want to use on a day to day basis (unless if you still like XP, of course).

Windows 7 has some new features such as jumplists, new taskbar, less annoying User Account Control, and many more under the hood. If you want to find out more about Windows 7, you just have to Google it ;)

Thanks! I wasn’t even sure that this was going to be released with all this stuff. I know there was a lot of debate on what was going to be in Windows 7. I’ll have to have my tech guy take a look at it. Thanks for the informative post.

Even with windows vista, my PC is running with 4gb (x64bit family OS) and slow. Maybe, Intel corei7 and 8bg ram will be good for windows 7.

Hm that’s weird. I’m on 2 GB (and upgraded to 3 GB) and both Vista and Windows 7 run fast.. lots of start up programs maybe on your Windows?

I am not sure I want to open myself up to the problems which may be associated with the latest Microsoft build. I think I will wait for some of the bugs to become apparent and “fixed”

I haven’t changed to Vista yet as there are still compatibility problems with my business software. I can’t see Windows 7 being any different so I reckon I am stuck with XP for a bit longer ;(

I’ve been waiting for this one to come out hence have not upgraded from XP yet. Looking forward to the “enhanced” Vista. Thanks for letting us know.

Well XP still works great, so you don’t really need to upgrade to this one :)

Yeah, I know Michael, but I am one of those guys that loves to keep up with technology when I can. Too bad the company I work for doesn’t though and I have to wait until their techie guys update their software.

Well most office people don’t normally upgrade as soon as a new application version is released :)

Sire January 3, 2009 at 8:41 pm

True but the Windows 7 is almost out and our guys still haven’t updated to Vista yet. They may as well forget Vista and start working on the latest version.

If you are interested, a post from ZDNet claims that Windows 7 (on its Beta 1 stage) actually outperforms both XP and Vista ;)

Definitely! Vista is more like a stepping stone to Windows 7, so don’t buy Vista and wait for Windows 7 instead :)
