Upload multiple photos on Twitter and tag friends

Twitter multiple photos

On the most recent updates coming to you, Twitter will now allow users to tweet multiple photos (up to 4 photos at a time) in a single tweet and also to tag people in the photo.

Why would you be bother with tagging if you can already use “Mentions” (@)? Well, for a start, using the new tagging feature will not reduce your 140 characters tweet limit. And we all know how precious every letter is when you are tweeting, right?

How to upload multiple photos on a single tweet at Twitter

When composing a tweet and choosing a picture, you now have the option to multi-select photos by tapping on the photos (the circular selection on iOS’ app):

By uploading multiple photos at the same time on a single tweet, you’ll create a photo collage, similar to what you see on Facebook Timeline. Here is an example of such tweet:

Tagging People on Twitter’s Photos

When uploading a photo (at least, tested on my Twitter for iOS app), there is now an option to tag people up. You can tag up to 10 people within a single photo, which will then notify those users being tagged by you (through Twitter’s Mentions). Likewise, you will be notified as well when a Twitter friend tags you in his/her photo. Thankfully, you can adjust whether you want to be tagged or not on Twitter’s Privacy settings.

Twitter privacy

It’s funny how Facebook wanted to be like Twitter (by having hashtags and such) and now Twitter wants to be like Facebook. In a sense, it’s good for us because these are great features to have. Or are they not?
