MacX just introduced a free DVD ripper software for the Mac OS. Yup, free. The DVD ripper can backup and rip DVDs to MOV, MP4, FLV, MPEG, and iTunes for free.
This free DVD Ripper for Mac allows you to backup copy-protected DVDs with CSS, Sony ARccOS, UOPs, RCE, APS and Disney new copy protections, clip the video rips (so you can remove some parts of the movie such as advertising or the FBI warning screen), supports for multi-core processors while ripping, and even extracts audio and/or video from the DVD.
I have yet to try the free DVD Ripper for Mac on my Macbook but according to a customer’s testimonials on the MacX DVD Ripper Free Edition, it takes no more than half an hour to convert a DVD movie, yet the output quality is exactly the same as original.
