Why you need a Pre-Paid Wi-Fi 4G

Wi-Fi 4G Modem

Have you ever regret buying a Wi-Fi only tablet? Though it is cheaper compared to the 4G version, at times you just need to be connected on the move. Or perhaps you are always on the road, going to clients’ meetings, preparing your presentations, and always living in a hotel.

At times like this, it’s a good decision to get yourself a Pre-Paid Wi-Fi 4G service and modem so you can always stay connected where ever you are at highest speed possible.

Telstra’s latest mobile Wi-Fi 4G modem allows you to connect up to 5 devices at the same time (that includes your smartphones, tablets, and laptops). The device itself is compact and does not need any cables to run (except when you have to charge it, of course). It has its own Wi-Fi Access Point, so your devices connect to it via Wi-Fi (the wireless network SSID will show up on the list of available wireless networks).

Telstra 4G is fast and I’ve been on them for about half a year now. Coverage definitely depends on the areas you are in but you can get great speed when you are connected to their 4G network.

According to Telstra’s official page, you’ll get around 2Mbps to 40Mbps download speed if you are in the CBD. In my experience, I can get around 5-10Mbps (Melbourne CBD) and just this morning, I was testing the Samsung GALAXY S4 at the Sydney airport. I got around 37Mbps on Telstra 4G. It screams fast everywhere.

Though most people are happy enough on the 3G, sometimes you just need to transfer large files such as videos, huge contract documents, or even do a video conference call. A 3G connection will definitely not be enough for such occasions. Check out Telstra’s 4G page to find out about the plans and prepaid rates.
