Razer Megasoma Review

Razer Megasoma is a hybrid of a hard and a soft mouse mat; If you love the softness of a soft mat but want to have the speed of a hard mat, Razer Megasoma delivers (this is debatable and I guess more like a personal preference). Razer Megasoma sits somewhere in between, combining the best [...]

PageRank Google Update Q2 2008

On my way to the top!

On my way to the top!

Thanks Mr. Google, this blog now has a PageRank of 4 from PageRank 1! Yippee..I’ve waited for so long for it :)

Although, I notice that my post about caching still goes unranked? It was on PageRank 4 before I changed my Permalink Structure (bad move) and then it went unranked ever since. Maybe it hasn’t been updated?

It’s gonna be interesting to find out whether my search engines traffic will increase because of this or whether it’s going to be the same.

What do you guys think? Will PageRank really improve your ranking on Google Search Results?

Wow, got me the same problem when I changed my structure. From PR3 – PR0. And I never regained my PR rating.

Congrats! My PR dropped from 4 to 3
but 34 of 54 internal pages got PR 1-2

I guess PR doesn’t effect my rank much.

You are certainly on your way to the top, Michael. Congrats on your PR4, I think you deserve it. I got PR3 for my site in less than 3 months and am pretty excited about it. It’s time to celebrate, isn’t it?

My site is a few days older than 3 months and I jumped in at a PR of 3. I am excited about this but I really do not know if it really is worth the excitement. Maybe it is just nice to know that someone enjoys what one does, even if it is just a robot. Will have to wait to see if it makes any difference. Congratulations on your PR 4.

Mike, first of all congrats for PR 4!!! It reflects your hard work…

According to me pagerank doesn’t effect the google search results. Page rank is just the measure of importance.

Hi Micheal, congratulations for having a Pagerank of 4. My blog is still new so obviously it will stay at 0 until the next update. I think having a pagerank will affect your rank in search engine results, that’s what I read in an ebook.

@Yan & Sailor: Wow.. PageRank 3 in under 3 months? That’s amazing!

@Van: Please don’t kill me. I still want to live heh heh

To others, it will come by eventually! Just focus on writing contents and one day it’ll just be offered in front of your “door” without you realizing it :)

I guess it’s going to be interesting to see whether more traffic will come from search engines now

I think PR not completely effect the SERP Google have it’s own way for the SERP even PR is a plus poin.. but content is the king.. keep da spirit to post michael

Congrats on your PR. My PR is also now PR2, which I started three months back.

I don’t think Mike, however, that PR will affect the SERP.

Awesome Michael. I didn’t even know pr updated again but I’m at pr 3 I think it went from pr 2. I’ve had my blog since February so I think I need to work on getting it better ha ha. I was pr4 before I went to self hosted.

Nothing to be excited about, folks :) I don’t notice a jump on search engine traffics or about my rankings. However, it must have meant something to advertisers heh heh.

@Hye Munar: Just focus on building contents & relantionship with other bloggers and hoping someone links you back. Submitting to directories also helps, I think.

Well at least you gain some rank, Pandu. Those who are slapped to PR0 must have joined those TLA or TNX (selling links)

This was an interesting PR update because the PR snapshot was so old (around June 15th). From the directory and social bookmarking lists I maintain, about 1/3 of the sites had a PR change. This is below average. Of those that saw a PR change, over half lost PR. My guess is that we will have another PR update sooner then 3 months. With PR’s that are nearly 1.5 months old, I think Google will be updating PR again in about two months.

Ah, I’ve always been interested in PR! But I don’t really know how to increase it and if there’s really any advantages to it. Does it /actually/ get you more visitors through search engines?

Well if you get backlinks from sites/blogs that are on high PRs, your PR will increase. Write some quality posts and hopefully great bloggers will link your post one day to theirs :)

As for advantages, well some say it affects your results on the search engines, some say it doesn’t. Your pick :)
