Open Office 3.0 Release

by Michael Aulia on 15 October, 2008

in Software Release

After releasing several Betas and RCs (Release Candidates), Open Office 3.0 has gone final!

Open Office offers a free alternative to the popular Microsoft Office suite. It is tailored for those who require features that are offered by Microsoft Office but don’t want to waste any money on them.

Open Office 3 offers new  features and also better compatibility.

Open Office 3 Splash Screen

Open Office also supports opening Microsoft Office Documents, although advanced features used on the document may be lost during the conversion. Although the functionality is not as advanced as MS Office, Open Office still whacks a punch.

The site is currently being hammered by  those who want to download the product, so the main page has been changed to a simple HTML page with download links.

Go to Open Office official site to download and install or upgrade to Open Office 3.0.

Man you don’t even know how long I’ve waited for this since disabling my own Movable Type widget (that doesn’t work since Haloscan bypasses that code).
