Razer Megasoma Review

Razer Megasoma is a hybrid of a hard and a soft mouse mat; If you love the softness of a soft mat but want to have the speed of a hard mat, Razer Megasoma delivers (this is debatable and I guess more like a personal preference). Razer Megasoma sits somewhere in between, combining the best [...]

My First Google AdSense Check

by Michael Aulia on 16 June, 2008

in Geek's Ramblings

After months of learning about blogging, writing in English, Google AdSense’s placements, etc etc, I’ve finally received my first check from Google. I know a lot of people didn’t take that long for their first check, but I’m surely happy that all my hard work didn’t go in vain!

My Google AdSense Check

This is still the first step and the road is still long. I still don’t have enough traffic to apply for a good CPM program that pays you per 1000 impressions. More useful and great posts are needed and more extra work is necessary.

Rather than focusing on the money side, I guess I should focus on growing my blog’s traffic even more. However, it’s good to know that my blog’s hosting expenses are fully covered and who knows if one day I can afford getting a custom design and also a dedicated hosting for this blog :)

This is not a money making blog, so I’m not going to try to convince you or teach you how to earn money, but if you own a blog or a site, why don’t you try putting some Google AdSense (advertisements) on yours as well? Who knows.

Nice! How come it is 141++ and not 100++ instead?

So how many months did it take you to achieve this? :D

Thanks guys! It’s still a long road ahead but the first steps are always the hardest :)

@Deimos: Google will check whether your balance has a minimum of $100 at the end of the month (I had $141.25 at the end of April 2008).

Took me err..6 months maybe? It’s getting better now, though. I’ve been getting $1-3 a day and I got around $90 last month, so I guess I’m going to get my second check next month w00t w00t ^^

Congratulations on your first Adsense check. You aren’t the only one to go through the long wait to get their first one, I myself had to wait 5 months before getting mine, but after that I got two more until I got lazy and let my sites die down (plus a little rest for me). Now I have to work my way up again to get more money it, but it is good to read about others success.

Great work and good luck!

Congratulations! Wow, I’m not even close. Sad to say… I think Adsense is a waste of my time, but it’s probably just me doing something wrong. I’ve had mine since about August I think.

Congrats, Michael. Just one thing though, what’s your success rate with the adsense text links? You know, the ones before and after your post content.

@Yan: Not bad. It’s not as many clicks as the other ones in-post, but it contributes like 20% of my income :)

Yan@Blog for Beginners 20 June, 2008 at 6:22 pm

Well, 20% sounds quiet good. Earlier on I’m just a bit hesitant to use it yet but perhaps I should give it a try and see how it works.

Thanks for sharing, Michael
