Microsoft has officially announced Windows Mobile 6.1 launch!

PocketPC with Windows Mobile 6 installed can now rejoice! Microsoft has announced the launch of Windows Mobile 6.1 officially! Windows Mobile 6.1 offers a more stable OS, new IE features such as zooming capabilities when browsing pages, built-in task manager, updates to Windows Live search, and also threaded SMS messaging (conversation)!

Official ROM updates should be underway now and available at Q2 2008 (fingers crossed).
If you don’t want to wait or can’t wait, there are unofficial Windows Mobile 6.1 ROMS lingering around @xda developers forum that you can download and install. However, use them at your own risk!
For Wizard devices | For Trinity devices (such as HTC P3600, HTC P3600i), the 6.1 ROM can be obtained in this forum thread.

Another Microsucks product! O_O

The only few Microsucks products I will use is Windows XP, Office and that is about it. No choice mah.
Well, you do have a choice of installing Linux with Open Office
I have no choice here as my PocketPC (HTC P3600i) is using Windows Mobile and no, you can’t change that hehe
I don’t really fancy Microsoft monopolizing and stealing ideas & improving them, but I have to admit that they are producing some good quality applications/OS
Do you have idea what changes Microsoft made to their update from windows mobile 6? A friend always asked me this since I’m not a ppc user.
