In case you haven’t heard, Apple’s latest iPhone 6 Plus was reported to bend and made a commotion on the internet. And it’s not because it’s being placed in a skinny jean’s back pocket and sat upon, but even on a front pocket of the pants (so the reports said). Lots of techies have even tried doing a bend test using plain hands to prove that the iPhone 6 Plus can in fact, get bent. And it can.

This problem has been used by Apple’s rivals to mock Apple in series of tweets and memes going around the net. It has also made people worried (including myself a bit) and felt reluctant to grab an iPhone 6 / 6 Plus.
Apple has been quiet with no response about this, even when the issue was being discussed by almost every tech media on the planet. Until now (I guess they need to prepare all the arguments and preparations). Josh Lowenson from The Verge was taken by Apple to the lab where Apple tested iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus thoroughly. And I mean, crazy amount of tests (in terms of numbers and the type of tests they’ve gone through). From machines that torture the iPhones thousands of times to having an iPhone 6 inside pants’ pockets and being sat in different angles many, many times. You can read more on The Verge article.
Note also that there are only 9 complaints out of over 10 millions happy iPhone 6/6Plus users – which in my opinion, is very insignificant. It also makes me wondering what kind of situation had made their iPhones bent.
In short, you shouldn’t be worried from getting the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. I’m really happy with mine (review coming) and no, it does not bend.
