Excellent handset with all the functions that you could need. There are some great deals out there giving you a huge amount of minutes, free texts and unlimited web. The unlimited web is definitely a bolt on I would recommend as you will be using the handset a lot on the web.

Got mine from a UK based company called Mobile Phones Direct - <a href="http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/Brands/HTC/b509/p10958.aspx" rel="nofollow">HTC Touch Pro 2</a>

Hi Michael,

I bought touch pro 2 finally, and I have used it for about three weeks.
Though its response time sometimes is more than one second, its keyboard provides navigation buttons which are equivalent to D-pad for my Bible software. I have installed three types of Bible software, and I can press the button for previous screen and choose another software. Thus, it is very convenient for me to switch between these software. Moreover, I have upgraded my tp2 to wm6.5. Though the touch control is still horrible in the wm6.5 environment, I can use the keyboard to give my command to tp2. I like all the good features of tp2, and most of its shortcomings can be solved by its keyboard. Anyway, thank you very much for your useful review and response so that I can make up my mind to buy this excellent device.
It really combines all the features of mobile phone and traditional PDA, and it works even better.

Hi Michael,

Sorry to bother you again. Since the tp2 in the market is still using wm6.1, I need to rely on your response to me. Please tell me the following points.

1. If you turn off TouchManilla 3D, does the response time of tp2 (using wm6.5) become faster?
2. Your review about tp2 mentions that the touch support of wm6.1 is horrible.
Please tell me whether touch support of wm6.5 is better (without TouchManilla)?
3. Your review also forecasts that D-pad will be no longer necessary when wm6.5 is used.
Does it really hold true when you are now using wm6.5 (without TouchManilla)?

Thanks for your help.

(Remark: I do not in great need of TouchManilla. Rather I want to have tp2 to run a Bible software when I work outdoor without computer or notebook. Moreover, I need a good keyboard rather than fast-response machine like iphone. For me, the response time less than 1 second is good, 1 second is acceptable, 2 seconds is intolerable.)

Hm well it's not as fast as iPhone definitely. It's more like the interface and not so on the power.

I've upgraded from wm6.1 to wm6.5 but I'm using the TouchManilla 3D (which is not the smoothest interface in the planet). The best thing to do is to go to a shop and try it yourself before you decide to buy it

Hi Michael,

When I am about to buy a tp2, I hear some bad news from my relative who had used htc diamond (cpu=528MHz, same as tp2) and found that its response time slow. Please tell me whether you find touch pro 2 slow in response to your command.

Have you upgraded your tp2 from wm6.1 to wm6.5? If so, then do you find that its response becomes faster?

Thanks for your help.
