Ever want to shutdown your computer automatically after it completes a certain task? When you have slept or when your download has finished?
I found this nifty application many years ago, but in my opinion, it’s the simplest and easiest shutdown timer application out there for Windows.
You simply select one of the action:
- Shut down your PC
- Reboot / Restart
- Log off from the current session
Set the timer (based on hours and minutes) and you’re done!
You can download the shutdown timer application here for free
This shutdown timer is for Windows XP/NT/2000 only. If you are looking for a Windows Vista one, check my other entry on this page.

nice program ha thanks, were did you make this program, can i have the source code?
Hi John,
I’m not the developer of the program. I found it on the web and the files are still in my computer up till now.
I’m not sure where I got it from (it was way years back!!) but I found that it’s the simplest program out there that does the job!
Old post, but def. beats creating a timer in notepad and changing the file each time + the process of getting rid of it.
Unless you have so much free time, then go for a GUI application
Thanks, now I don’t have to wait for a d/load to finish!
