Firefox Secure Login Extension

Are you using Firefox and its auto-fill passwords a.k.a Firefox Password Manager?
Do you know that it could be exploited before? (Google Search Result here). Who knows if it can still be exploited in the future (scripts that steal your passwords without you knowing it). This extension called “Firefox Secure Login” will help you in securing your passwords more!
I never know about this before and I thought that the Password Manager should be secure enough.
This extension will help you by:
Disabling the prefilling of login forms prevents malicious JavaScript code to automatically steal your login data.
This is due to the fact that no login data is inserted in form fields before the user clicks on the login button or logs in using the keyboard shortcut.
To make sure you login to the right website, the second level domain of the login url is compared to the second level domain of the current page.
If they do not match a dialog prompt is displayed before login.
There is also an option to prevent any JavaScript attacks to your Firefox’ password manager. Just make sure that you turn it on after you install the extension, as it’s turned off by default.
Instead of Firefox “auto fills” your passwords, you now have to click on the “Key” icon or press the keyboard shortcut. This will help eliminate the exploit.
Secure Login Extension… One extra click (or keyboard press) to secure your passwords.. Why not?

I am a little paranoid myself when it comes to passwords so I generally type them in every time. I am also changing passwords all the time and especially for any new I would sign up to. It’s definitely a good thing to have your passwords protected so in case I’d save mine I’d use this tool for sure!

have been using Sxipper a lot

Sxipper looks sexy! But whichever that you guys choose, I’d rather have it automated, especially if you have to do lots of login on different sites each day!
I still keep my manual login to online banking and other important ones though..I can be paranoid sometimes
Heya,
That is actually really interesting, I use this feature of firefox all the time (as it really *is* handy)… However I did not know that it could be exploited in such a way.
I mean, I have to admit that it is a handy feature to have it autofill… but for peace of mind, you have convinced me. I will be installing this when I get home for sure.
Now that you have been using it for a few days how have you found it?
Cheers
Stuart

Hm.. I feel..more secured?
I think the extra step (clicking on a key icon which will then fill the forms in and logging me automatically afterwards) is not really a big deal at all.
As you said earlier, it gives a peace of mind.
[...] exploited in the past, and very possibly in the future too! Michael Aulia shared with us a Firefox plugin – Firefox Secure Login Extension to combat this issue. I am so gonna install this plugin right [...]
