This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Heineken. All opinions are 100% mine.

Ever heard or seen that TV ad: “If you drink and drive, then you are a bloody idiot?” – well if you have an iPhone and this app, you can now drink and drive without being an idiot. Heineken developed an iPhone app called Heineken Know The Signs Breathalyzer that can analyze whether you’ve had too many drinks or not.
The Heineen Know The Signs Breathalyzer analyzes your breath and then shows a character on the screen, depending on the level of your “drunkness”. The application is also free so feel free to download and play around with it on your iPhone (the application can be grabbed from the iTunes store).
Heineken has been running on-going campaigns to urge youngsters to drink responsibly and know when you’ve had too many. Last year’s Enjoy Heineken Responsibly campaign talked continuously about the signs people start to show when they’ve had too many. This year’s campaign, Know The Sign campaign part II, Heineken wants to make people aware of the side effects of alcohol over consuption (Check out The Heineken Know The Signs website for more details about the campaign).
I hope the people in Melbourne read and know about the campaign because there are too many drunk people around every night on the weekend
As for the iPhone app, does it really work? Unfortunately I don’t know because:
- I don’t drink
- I don’t have an iPhone
But the app is free, so feel free to take a sip and test it out yourself. Download the Heineken Breathalyzer iPhone app

A must have app for drinker but not for me. Like you, I don’t drink and don’t have an iPhone

Hehe that’s good to hear. Thought I’m the only one in the planet that doesn’t have an iPhone
Need I say waste of app?
The stuff people create this days: either you drink and you don’t drive, or you don’t drink and you drive. We don’t need “modern technology” to tell us if we’re drunk enough…
I mean really? xD The app just shows a picture, it doesn’t *stop* the person from drinking more or anything.
I dunno, seems pointless to me.
Well at least they can check whether they should drive or not, with the state that they’re in
How is this done? Does the iphone have a built in breathalyzer?
I have no idea and personally I don’t think it does so I’m quite curious what it’s doing
“I don’t drink” — that puts you in the safe zone, Michael, good for you!
I love this idea, although I have no iPhone and don’t drink as well, I sincerely hope whoever is meeting both criteria to kindly check before sitting behind the steering wheel. Let’s hope a safer highway with less drunk drivers on the road.

We actually had 5 people reported to die today (around 19 year olds) in a car accident where the car was smashed into a tree. Alcohol is one of the culprit
