Creative wins multiple “red dot design awards”

I got a press release from Creative today, stating that they have won multiple awards for outstanding product design innovation and quality, especially for the ZiiSound D5 system, Aurvana In-Ear2 earphones, and HS-9301 Headset.

wins in the prestigious German-based international “red dot design award” – the largest and most
renowned design competition in the world. The ZiiSound D5 speaker system, Creative Aurvana
In-Ear2 earphones and Creative HS-930i headset were awarded the esteemed “red dot award:
product design 2010” which recognises outstanding product designs for their innovation, functionality and quality standards. The “red dot award: product design 2010” was selectively awarded to 45 products out of over 4,000 entries from 57 participating countries this year.

Each year, an international jury reviews and evaluates the submitted products according to criteria such as degree of innovation, functionality and the formal quality which ensures the seriousness of the competition and its international acceptance. The group of jurors is made up of renowned designers and design experts from all over the world who reach their ZiiSound D5 Speaker System decisions on the red dot award winners independently and impartially. “All products that have won an award in the red dot design award had to convince an international expert jury of their quality. The products stand out from the masses with their excellent design and innovative approaches and proved their quality in one of the toughest design competitions worldwide,” explains design expert Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator of the red dot design award. “This year, designers and companies from 57 nations with a total of 4,252 products took part in the ‘red dot award: product design’.”

Awards Presentation and Special Exhibition

Together with the other award-winning products, the ZiiSound D5 speaker system, Creative Aurvana In-Ear2 earphones and Creative HS-930i headset are on display from 6 July to 1 August 2010 in the exhibition “Design on stage – winners red dot award: product design 2010” at the red dot design museum on the premises of the ‘Zeche Zollverein’ World Cultural Heritage Site in Essen, Germany. After that, it will be presented in the red dot design museum’s permanent exhibition for at least one year. With approximately 1,500 products on more than 4,000 square metres, the red dot design museum houses the largest permanent exhibition of contemporary design worldwide.
