I must say that both give a close shave but the Arcitec 1050 is much faster and all in all a better shaver. The braun takes forever to give you that close shave so you best not be in a hurry. The Braun self clean system is pretty cool whereas the 1050 is manual. No biggie though. If either one bites the dust I would re-buy the Arcitec but not the Braun 7.
