Still not a bad month but traffic is just steady without any new surprises. I’m trying Infolinks this month on this blog – I hope it’s not too intrusive as I personally don’t really like it. Lots of big tech sites/forums seem to use it though so I’m giving it a go for a few days and see what happens. Anyways, it will only appear on the landing post if you come from the search engines :)

I also got a lot of review units for the past few weeks from around the world so I’ll be busy testing and writing reviews this month. If you have products to be reviewed or marketed, don’t hesitate to contact me through the Contact link on the top!

I can see a clear shift from Stumble upon dominance to Google organic visitor increase, You are doing good, at 50k visitor Adsense earned only $127 , well that can be work out to milk more. Good to see you you have private advertising earning.

Hey, How much Thesis helping? when you changed to thesis ?

Hi Shanker! Glad to see you pop back in. Well I still miss my Stumble upon traffic because it always gave me surprises every day. Gonna do some tweakings this month in a hope to increase my AdSense earnings.
I’m planning to write about Thesis some time soon (well it was supposed to be in January lol procrastinating….)

I’m not active on that forum. It appears that someone did and posted/linked back to my post in the past.

I actually use 336×280 but only if you come from the search engines. If not, you’ll be seeing the 468×60 as I thought it’d be less intrusive to my loyal readers like you :)

Nice digits you got there Michael. Though the search traffic at 32k could’ve earned you more, but still good results. Scheduling tweets on hours in the western hemisphere might help to get some more action on your US traffic, specially now that Google has real-time tweets going on.

Thanks for the tip. Honestly it’s been long since I’ve thought of schedulingmy posts and tweets on the US hours. Do you know the best time to schedule your posts/tweets? (ex 8.am in the morning EST or something like that)

Archon Digital May 5, 2010 at 7:34 pm

I spread tweets and posts throughout the day in UK/US hours and try my best to not look like I’m driving links down people’s throats.

I’m wide awake and is actually working during UK and US hours so I don’t have to schedule them.

Good to see, you earning not depend only on Adsense. Still good traffic but less earning but wish next month we will see some more. By the way where is your social spark earning?

I saw your traffic graph is keeping on a line :) How about traffic between reviewing article and other?

I have a few posts doing a few hundreds organic traffic a day. Some of them are review posts (about 20-30 visits for one review post) – it depends on the position in Google. “Razer Imperator Review” gives me #4, which isn’t bad at all!

ShaswatPatel May 6, 2010 at 8:21 pm

Hello Michael, First of all congrats for getting over 1000 Unique a day from search engine which means you have good content within your site and Search Engines glad to gives you traffic thanks to your content but when I see your Adsense earnings I must say you have something wrong within your customization of ads.

I am not experts so don’t mind for my suggestions but however I will suggest two points:

1. Use 300 x 250 ads block instead of 468 x 60 as from my experience this 300 x 250 is best conversion block and gives better CTR for me. Second things with this box chose font same like your post title so it blends very well with your content which make your chances higher to get clicks.

2. I would say use Google Custom Search option on your site, honestly you will get better earnings because you have Tech niche and it will gives you some time $1-$2/click!

I hope you like my idea!

Regards
Shaswat

Thank you so much for the great comment, Shaswat.

1) I am already using the 336×280 (do they work the same like the 300×250?) if visitors come from search engines. If not, I make it so that the 468×80 appears instead as I think it’ll be less annoying for loyal readers like you

2) I’ve been trying to add Google Search on my blog for some time. I never got happy with the layout and haven’t revisited. I’ll think about putting back in and try again, thanks!

ShaswatPatel May 6, 2010 at 11:25 pm

Yes Micheal, it will works better then any other blocks and I asked many Adsense earners who makes over $100 daily and they also suggest it!

For Search Option, you can add it same place like you have in right sidebar and also try to add ads in Feed to if you have good Feed readers they also provide good earnings. Although it wouldn’t be more but you will happy to earn extra money.

Savvy Chick May 6, 2010 at 10:07 pm

Wow, I would love to keep your traffic levels on my main site. I’d be rich with targeted traffic of 50k a month.

lol thanks Deneil. Unfortunately this blog’s audience is a bit too wide unless if I have a more niche specific blog

Marlene May 9, 2010 at 12:59 am

I’m impressed with your income, Michael, and envious, too.
You’re heading towards becoming a full time internet entrepreneur, I guess.

Hah! Still a long way to go, Marlene, although that idea doesn’t sound bad at all. I need more traffic, especially from social bookmarking sites (or getting into a front page of Digg or Slashdot once a while will be nice too)

Vincent Chow May 9, 2010 at 4:53 am

I can only hope for that amount of non-Google traffic. Well done :)

Maybe you should list what review unit you’ve got, non-monetary earnings. :D

Hm..not a bad idea really, although you can actually find out by going to the Gadget Reviews section :D It’s a bit of a hassle to list my earnings breakthrough down + the review units every month..easy, but tedious

Harshit Singhal July 4, 2010 at 1:59 am

Decent stats but I prefer using adsense..Its pays much more than any other ad network.

I know, but it’s kinda hard for me because most tech readers know about AdSense/Ads and they don’t tend to click them
