Razer Megasoma Review

Razer Megasoma is a hybrid of a hard and a soft mouse mat; If you love the softness of a soft mat but want to have the speed of a hard mat, Razer Megasoma delivers (this is debatable and I guess more like a personal preference). Razer Megasoma sits somewhere in between, combining the best [...]

Acrobat & Adobe Reader 9.1 Update

by Michael Aulia on 11 March, 2009

in Software Release

adobe-acrobat

A new update on Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader is available for download at Adobe web site.

Adobe Reader is the famost PDF reader application made by Adobe to read PDF files.

The update fixes some security vulnerabilities and also support for :

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008
  • IBM Lotus Notes 8.5 (specifically for Acrobat PDFMaker in email and using Notes for collaboration)
  • Autodesk AutoCAD 2009: Acrobat PDFMaker installed in AutoCAD and Acrobat’s 3D Import options
  • Catalan and Basque languages
  • Using the Pencil tool to add an electronic signature if you’re using a TabletPC or tablet/stylus device

I’ll stick with FoxIt Reader but it doesn’t hurt to update my Adobe Reader for backup.

Yeah. Although it’s getting better each version.
I hate the move that Foxit do with the latest installation files though.. full of crapware. I hope people know not to select them during the installation

Thanks Mike, how do you keep track of all these updates?

I can get to the main download page alright but it’ll only provide me with the 43M d/l that is the complete install of v9.1, not the 16M (multi-lang) update download (I can find that, but d/l doesn’t start on the ThankYou page which does provide a “download now” button that doesn’t work. Maybe javascript or something, I dunno, (elsewhere on the site I’m told when stuff requires JS and I don’t have it) but for the downloading of a patch to a critical adobe vulnerability, http://www.adobe.com is of no use to me. Given the passive, worm-like nature of the vuln, I think it may be time to uninstall 9.0 from my system since adobe won’t help (or seemingly even let) me update it.

Specific download locations of various update files, not shown by the adobe web site, if known, would be Very helpful indeed…

Some people say adobe acrobat reader 7 has builtin function for writing but I am unable to find it. Can any body tell me how? If not in version 7 then in any version?
